The other men in our lives

My husband is Scott. He is a B. I am an A. This is why we work. For anyone that has ever said these words to me..."geee Scott is kinda quiet" I know, that is why I married him. He is quiet, calm, patient, loving, laid-back, and thoughtful. I am almost none of those things! My husband has the following special talents: he doesn't hear crying babies at night, he does not smell poopy diapers, he can walk over toys like they don't exist, and he eats anything I make. He will never initiate chores, but can rock a "honey-do" list in under an hour! I run the show, he is my right-hand man. Number 1...our children love him, especially his mini-me, Brayden! Number 2...he puts up with me...lucky guy!

This is my husband, Sean. I could not have built someone to be a better match for me. We play off one another's strengths and weaknesses, making us stronger each time we do. He is friendly, confident, hard working, and meticulous. He can find the one thing out of place in an otherwise perfectly picked up room. Sometimes I love that about him, and other's...well, not so much! He is a great dad, and our kids adore him! I loved him before we had our babies, and love him on a whole new level now that we have them. Without him our little world would not be complete.

Our Sunshine Babies

About Erin
I'd like to start a blog. What should I blog about? Well, I've been a teacher since 2002. I work with student's that have learning disabilities, autism, speech impairments, and many other learning styles. I love everything about it! When I'm not at work, I'm mommy of two! Brayden is my 4 year old, and Lillian, my 2 year old. They provide many entertaining moments and stories, but I also love doing crafts, planning parties, and making cakes. I'll share that with you too!

As with many things in my life, I enjoy enlisting my BF of 20 years, Lindsay, to partake in the fun. So, I've dragged her in with me, and together we'd like to provide funny stories, craft ideas, or how "not" to's on our failed attempts. If we can do it, anyone can!

About Lindsay
Oh, so you want to start a blog? Ok, that sounds fun! Yes, that's me, I'll join in on just about anything that sounds fun. I'm a stay at home mom of 3, so my days are pretty much summed up with any and everything kid related. While there are many days that I wish I was anywhere but here, at the end of the day, when my people are all tucked in and soundly sleeping, I can't imagine anything else I'd rather be doing everyday. Erin and I share many of the same hobbies, so I'm thrilled to have a place to share the stuff that I put so much effort into!

Anyway, back to the reason we're calling this blog "You are my sunshine," our kids. They are our life, as most people feel about their children. Without the sun, your world would not exist. This is how we feel about our families.

Erin's People
Brayden-4 years old

My son, is Brayden. I gave birth to him, but any other genetics I passed onto him did not manifest in his appearance. He looks like a mini replica of my husband, Scott. He is my sweet, cooperative, sensative little guy. He loves all things dinosaurs. He goes to preschool 2 days a week, and loves every second. I can't wait to watch him as he grows. He makes me smile everyday.
Lily-2 years old

Lillian Cate, oh boy, I'm in for it here. My current 2 year old started off as the sweet, second child. Her big blue eyes lull you into believing that she is a calm and passive child. Not. So. Much. Lily is hilarious. She runs, jumps, climbs, sings, dances, and LOVES being naked. Clothes are simply an annoying idea that society came up with just to irritate her. Running around in her diaper gives her sheer joy and she doesn't care who's looking. She does not want to use the big potty, and she enjoys any activity that annoys Brayden. She is my little fire-cracker!

Lindsay's People

Kyle-4 years old
Kyle is my oldest. He is the oldest of our bunch actually. He is almost 5 years old. Kyle is so smart and sweet. He cares how people feel and always wants to help out. He is very sweet with both of his sisters, and loves to play with them. (until they overstep...then he's done playing!). He loves to learn. He loves dinosaurs, cars, dragons, and even My Little Pony's. He is a very talented draw-er, and I hope more than anything that he finds something he loves in life where he can put that incredible skill to use.

Ella- 2 years old
Oh Ella. My Sweet Crazy Ella. She is 2. I'd like to say that she is nothing like me, but truthfully, she is exactly like me. She wants what she wants, YESTERDAY! She can be sweet as sugar in one minute and the next minute I'm wondering what made her lose it. She is so full of personality, and is very charming. She loves fancy dresses, and choosing her own shoes. Cowboy boots are her current fave! She loves running around with the boys, or playing with her "gils" (girls-Barbies, or other female figurine) *While writing this very post Ella locked herself and her baby sister in the bathroom. Note to self: Do not write blog posts while Ella is awake!
Carlyn-1 year old
Carlyn, or Carly for short, is my baby. She just turned 1. She was my "surprise" baby that I never knew I wanted. From the moment that she was born, I have been enamored with her. I didn't expect to fall in love with her so immediately. She is the sweetest baby. If a baby can be well behaved, she is. With 2 other children it's been hard, but I've tried to cherish every little baby thing about her. One of my favorite things she does now is sit on the floor and kick her feet on the floor when she is happy. Recently she did this when I was getting her antibiotic out of the refrigerator. She is an awesome baby, and I hope she is an awesome toddler, as well as an awesome member of society!
